Description
This is an early free blown pontiled blackglass "onion" rum bottle from the 1740s Colonial Period that was found by divers in Guyana near an early Dutch fort........guaranteed authentic and over 250 years old....You are only buying ONE bottle; the green one on the right (the other one is listed separately).......Free blown classic "onion"......open pontil scar pushed up into sunken bottom.....crude slightly flared lip with drippy applied ring collar... dark olive green blackglass ......6 5/8"tall x 5 1/2"round....Good condition with no chips or cracks except an open bubble on neck; no other damage. It has surface roughness from being in the ocean sand. Normal haze. This bottle was dug from the mouth of the Essequibo River near Georgetown, Guyana. There was a Dutch fort there in the early 1700s. These early bottles are no longer being found since it is such a dangerous area to dive and all the early bottles have been found. This was the most popular style of rum bottle in the early to mid 1700s. You are only buying the ONE bottle on the right.
