    Description

    This is a crude early pontiled blackglass rum or squat liquor bottle free blown in the 1700s Colonial Period......no embossing....crudely free blown so there are no mold seams....early sand pontil scar on sunken bottom ...crude applied double ring collar....dark olive green blackglass....round squat ale shape.....8 1/2"tall x 3 7/8"round.....Bottle has a slight natural crude lean to one side. Good condition with no chips or damage. A dug bottle with some normal haze and dark sediment haze still inside. You can see an area on side where coral or barnicles were attached at one point, so this bottle must have came from the ocean.  These are getting much more difficult to find these days as the digging has all but dried up.
