Here's an early pontiled New England glasshouse demijohn bottle from the 1850s or 60s with its original wicker covering & handle...no embossing....Hand blown .....rough ring pontil scar on bottom.....applied tapered collar......olive green color......15"tall x 5 7/8"round......Excellent condition with no chips or damage. A nice clean bottle. Wicker is all original and in excellent condition....only the wicker on bottom is missing. This is a great looking early pontiled Civil War era demijohn bottle. These big demijohn bottles were used for storing liquids such as wine, whiskey, vinegar, water, etc.....
