    Description

Presented is a wonderful English Georgian sterling silver fish slice or server. This piece dates to 1785 and was made by William Plummer. The blade of the server features lovely pierced cutout work, with an engraved design of a cornucopia sprouting flowering scrolled vines. The handle is beautifully carved from a rich dark wood. Although this is a fish server, it could easily be used to serve pastries, pie, or a wide variety of other things.
This piece is in great overall condition. The wood handle is probably a replacement, but matches and fits perfectly, with no chips, no cracks, no splits, and no repairs. The silver has no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter K for 1785, King George III's head duty mark, and the maker's mark for William Plummer.
The server is about 11 inches long.
This piece weighs 121 grams or 4.3 regular ounces.
