    Description

Offering here a lovely vintage handmade English sterling silver watch fob - pendant - charm - medal.
It's a very THIN and LIGTWEIGHT piece that is fully hallmarked as shown.
The silversmiths hallmark is R.P. for Robert Pringle.
The other hallmarks indicate that this pieces was assayed in the Birmingham office, is sterling silver ( lion passant ) and produced in 1912.(N)
There is also a lion passant sterling hallmark on the jump ring.
The back is inscribed, "L.B. Walmer".
The front reads, "F.D.C.L. Winner 1912".
Fobs like this one were originally used as decorations on a gentleman's watch chain and later went on to become popular as award medals and are highly sought after by a great number of collectors today.
The later resurgence in popularity as medals is why you'll see a lot of these were engraved many years later than the hallmark indicates that they were made.
The weight of the pendant is approximately 2.9 grams.
It's approximately 1 1/2" long including the bail. It's approximately 7/8" at the widest point.
It's a bit worn and in fair to good condition with no issues other than normal signs of wear and use which includes small surface scratches to the silver.
We never clean or polish our old silver jewelry as most collectors prefer an undisturbed patina and it's a bit dirty with a soft, mellow patina.
