    Description

Presented is an antique, English sterling silver serving spoon, platter spoon or stuffing spoon made by Richard Crossley & George Smith IV of London in 1811. The spoon is in a classical form, with a round-tipped handle. The piece is engraved with a lovely monogram of the initials HPBF. This spoon is a good weight for its size.
The back is marked with the crowned leopard’s head for London, the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of King George III’s head, a date letter Q for the year 1811 and a maker’s mark for Richard Crossley & George Smith IV.
This piece is in fabulous condition, especially for its age. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The spoon measures 11 3/4 inches long and weighs 108.2 grams or 3.8 ounces.
