This is a beautiful antique sterling silver curling iron box made by Sibray, Hall & Co of London
We date this piece to the late 1800's
There are English hallmarks on the side of the lid, and on the side of the base
The box is sterling and the working parts inside it are some type of metal
The hinges on the arms that open to hold the hot iron are in very good working order
The heating part is a little stained from use.  I think it could just be cleaned up be fine.
I don't know anything about how this item actually works so we are just selling this as
a really nice piece of history
This is a very nicely made piece.
Over all the condition is excellent considering how old this is.
**There are a couple of small dents on the underside of the bottom ***see last 2 photos
The rest of the piece is in remarkable good condition considering how old it is.  It is probably
because the silver is really thick and heavy.
We just shined the outside of the box up a bit
It weighs 93.2 grams
It measures 3 3/8" x 1 7/8" x 1.75" tall
