    Description

This jacket is amazing! Hand-stitched with different tone leather. Well worn but other than the small tear seen in photos, in great condition. Very collectible .. 2-hooped beads for closure- not sure of the material, but very light density and appear hand carved. (Bone?)
It is longer in front and hangs shorter in back with 8” fringe. Including the fringe.. from the shoulders : the back length is 25” and front is 33”.
Sleeves also have 8” fringe and are 23” from shoulder with it. Sleeves are 18” diameter and shoulder to shoulder is 27”
Chest was difficult to measure but it’s at least 44”- but does not include opening and this is meant to be worn open.
**Hand Crafted by North Woods Native American Couple /Menominee Culture in Northern WI, they have past away, the new owner of the property sold all their beautiful hand made crafts -
(that were left behind in an old cabin). Very old unique, rare and 1 of a kind!
All items are sold ‘as-is’.. Due to the age… Many items may show signs of wear or tear. Please be sure to look through the pictures as we always do our best to photograph any damage or alterations that we find.
This jacket along with all of our other native American Collectibles on our store where acquired from the same source. In the upper Peninsula of Michigan there was an older couple who had a very large collection that was left behind in a cabin. We purchased as much as we could to do our part to preserve the culture by making sure it would be passed on to collectors who will value, appreciate, and do their part to preserve these historic pieces . Due to the location that they were found and based on the comparison of the colors and patterns… We presume most of it to be Menominee tribal affiliation or from another northern woodland tribe. The age does varies in these pieces. Some pieces of the artwork show to be around 50 years old, created in the early 70s… but a majority of the pieces show direct evidence of being 100-150 years of age .. some potentially being older.
