    Description

    For sale is a nice English Victorian sterling small pierced basket by William Comyns, London 1898-99.  The dish is about 5 inches long by 4 1/8 inches wide by 1 inch deep and weighs 57 grams.  It has pierced sides and a reticulated rim with a rose scroll edge.  The dish has not been monogrammed.  It is marked “RD 246413” and [WC] with London hallmarks for 1898-99 as shown.
    Condition on the piece is fairly good.  There are some very stubborn spots in the interior but I do not see any breaks or splits.  There are normal signs of use.  A decent little sterling dish by a good maker.
