Description
Here we have a beautiful early blacking bottle from the 1830s. This bottle was blown at a New England glass house (likely NH or CT). The glass is a bright golden amber with a touch of olive. There is an "orange peel like" texture to portions of the surface. The neck is a bit wider than usual leading up to a crude sheared and re-fired lip. The base has a perfect open pontil scar ;eft from the blowing process. This utility stands just about 4 3/4" tall and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, open bubbles, pot stone issues, stains, wear, etc. A beautiful top shelf example! If anyone has any questions please ask.
