    Description

    Welcome to
    Antiques & Moore!
This listing is for a beautiful 19th Century desk accessory made of burgundy colored leather looking material with two divided sections to hold stationary and decorated with heavy Sterling Silver reticulated mounts. There is a deep band of silver decorating the top back section of the stand and a larger panel with cartouche for monogram decorating the lower front. The silver is marked with English hallmarks for London, Sterling, date letter for 1892 and maker's stamp for William Comyns.
    Measures 9 3/4" high, 12 1/4" wide and 2 5/8" deep. Weighs 2.3 pounds.
This nice desk accessory is in very nice condition considering age and wear. There is wear to the leather type covering on the left facing front lower corner and damage to the back cover on the right side below the silver. There appears to be some silver loss to the pattern over this same area, however, the extent of the silver loss is undetermined. There is also loss to the leather type covering on the curved top of the middle divider. The overall appearance of this item is very good and sturdy commensurate with age and normal use.
