Alebrijes, which are Mexico's fantastic, imaginative figures are often described as creatures of the dreams and the imagination, They are made of copal wood in Oaxaca, Mexico.  I travel to Oaxaca to hand-pick the most imaginative and high quality pieces at affordable prices. Oaxaca's wood carvings are collected world-wide and are exhibited in galleries and museums. The painting on this unusual carving is fabulous.  The painting is very detailed  with lots of sea creatures and insects painted on a background of creative dotwork on the back of the frog.  The underside is a solid green.  This frog has bright blue eyes.  It measures approximately 8 1/2" long and 6 1/2 wide".  This terrific piece was created by Katy Rios.  It is a wonderful addition to any collection.
