    Description

    This is a
    Large
    size
Retablo with an original Painting from Cusco Peru, done
    in the
    17th century Baroque Style
.  The painting is in the middle and a large wood
    niche with
    painted roses and milagros
    around the edges.
    This image is of the
    Virgin Dolorosa or the
Sorrowful Mother / Mother of Sorrows
    .
Despite the painting coming from Peru, the wood retablo and decorative boarder was made in
    Patzcuaro Michoacan
where the painting was incorporated into this nicho.  It would make a wonderful
gift for the devout person in your life,
    or a
    great addition to your
    Mexican Folk Art
    Collection...
It measures approx. 12 3/4 inches tall by 10 inches wide and 2 inch deep.
Milagro is the Spanish word for Miracle
    .  There is a
    H
ook on back for hanging.   This lovely piece was handmade in both
    Cusco Peru &
    Patzcuaro, Michoacán,
    Mexico.
    I just got a
    new shipment in from Patzcuaro
    and
    will be listing more
Milagro covered pieces in the days to come...
