For your consideration is a matching pair of English sterling silver repousse berry spoons.
The bowls contain a repousse design of fruit and the handles are chased with a scrolling pattern along with a rooster.
The bowls are gold washed.
There is no monogram on either spoon.
The spoons were purchased from the estate of an English antique dealer, who owned many fine English sterling silver pieces.
The British hallmarks are badly worn.
The lion passant guardant mark (lion looking to the left), indicating the purity of the silver content at 92.5%, is visible on one spoon.
This mark was used to indicate the English sterling standard prior to 1822.
