This lot consists of two original 1930’s match book covers. The first is from actress Thelma Todd’s cafe. Match book reads Thelma Todd’s Steaks of Joya’s Unequaled. 3 miles north of Santa Monica on Ocean Highway. Back of match book has a photo of Thelma Todd. The other match book plays interestingly into the events of her mysterious death. Saturday night December 14, 1935 she attended a celebrity studded party at The Trocadero on Sunset in Hollywood. It was on Monday December 16, 1935 she was discovered dead in her 1930 Lincoln Pheaton wearing the clothes she attended Saturday nights party in. This second match book is from The Trocadero on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood and is of the same 1930’s time period. Two interesting entangled pieces of Hollywood history to add to your collection. Both match books no longer have matched in them. Wear to edges and surfaces but both are able to be read. Please refer to photos for condition and ask any questions before bidding or purchasing.
