Description
Here we have a great porter style bottle that dates to the 1830s-1840s. This bottle was likely made at a New England glass house considering the form and color. The glass is a medium olive green with a slight amber tone. The shoulder has distinct 3 piece mold lines and the base features a large sand chip style pontil mark. The neck is full of twist marks that lead up to a drippy applied mouth. This bottle stands 8" tall and is 2 3/4" across base. Condition of this bottle is excellent with no chips, cracks, open bubbles, pot stone issues, etc. Just a couple of touches of wear/ light abrasions to the exterior and some dust / light interior content haze that would likely rinse out. A great early bottle! If anyone has any questions please ask.
