    Description

    Here is a vintage copper colored hard times token, circa 1837, with legend "Specie Payments Suspended  May Tenth 1837" inside wreath and "Substitute for Shin Plasters Nov 1837" around eagle on front.   The token measures about 1 inch in diameter and shows some tarnish, dirt, wear and is holed at the top.  Please see the pictures and ask any questions.
