Vintage Mexican Silver Seahorse Creamer Sugar Los Castillo Style
Artes Folklorico presents a vintage Mexican silver creamer and sugar in the style of the celebrated master silversmiths at the Los Castillo studio in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico.
The pieces are hand-hammered but we are not sure if these are solid silver or silver-plated (most likely silver-plated).
They are both marked on the bottom, “HECHO EN MEXICO” with an eagle’s head (see photograph).
Both pieces showcase remarkable seahorse handles.
The sugar has a spout and lid that fits perfectly.
Both pieces are in excellent vintage condition with just some minor tarnishing (see photographs).
The sugar measures 4-1/2 inches in height and the creamers measures 4-3/4 inches in height.
A great find for anyone that collects vintage, old or antique Mexican silver, cream and sugars or the amazing silverwork out of the Los Castillo studio in Taxco.
