Vintage Shoshone Native American Beaded Vest 1890s

Description

This comes from the estate of a long time collector from the new Mexico area who later
relocated to San Jose and then Modesto ca. We will be listing a small portion of
this great collection in the next month so please view our other auctions.
From what we have gathered this is more than likely
Shoshone
and possibly was made
in the 1890s or earlier.  The bead work is exceptional quality.   There is bead loss through out
the vest, (please view pics) and it will need to be re-stitched on both sides and shoulders.
The silk is in overall good condition with minor ware as you would expect for the age. All buttons are present and in good shape. We have viewed early Shoshone bead work of the same quality
and it was described as being from as early as 1850s to 1860s.  please view all pics and draw your own opinion on condition.  It measures from top of shoulder seam to the bottom 21 1/2"
and from arm pit to arm pit on the front leather 18" across
