Temperatures in Dallas-Fort Worth may be 7 to 14 degrees above normal through the weekend

The hot and dry weather is lingering in North Texas, with temperatures expected to rise this weekend.
Highs in Dallas-Fort Worth have been in the high 80s these last few days but are expected to break 90 Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Lows will be in the 60s.
The weather service said temperatures could be seven to 14 degrees warmer than they typically are this time of year, and the rain-free weather has created dry vegetation causing an elevated risk of grass fires through Sunday.
The jet stream pattern remains unfavorable for true fall weather over the coming days, but according to KXAS-TV (NBC5), the very dry air resulting in low humidity will give a taste of fall. That low humidity does feed the concern over grass fires, though.
